April 6 - day on the beach

Breakfast on the beach this morning... corn porridge, toast, and blue mountain coffee

D bought a loaf of banana bread from the restaurant next door.  It is apparently really tasty, though I'm unable to try it.  D likes to drizzle sweetened condensed milk on it.

Our "company front" of chairs.  Any time out of the water today was spent here for me, including a lovely nap in the late afternoon.

Here is the view looking back at the restaurant... new deck, new chairs, and new bar since our last visit.

My lunch today was the Jamaican Stir Fry at Chill Awhile.  This was *wonderful*... combination of veggies sauteed, surrounding a pile of rice and peas. I'll be ordering this again.

After a lot of swimming, paddle boarding, reading, and otherwise soaking up the sun, we all cleaned up and piled into Tyrone's van to head down to Canoe for dinner.  Canoe has consistently been one of our favorite restaurants... located right on the beach, the food is always fantastic. Their menu has grown since our last visit, it now includes quite a few more fish options, including lion fish.

Group photo at Canoe, you can see how close the water is in the background.

My dinner... shrimp in a papaya canoe, which is both clever and incredibly tasty :)

  1. Still sounds lovely! The sushi from the other night actually sounds really good. I think the flavors would complement each other well. Yum.
On another front, I think maybe you need a new bikini - LOL!!!

  2. No kidding :) I double-knotted the bottoms but that only kept them from coming untied. There's not much that can be done about the extreme water pressure of sitting under a waterfall aside from a white-knuckled grip and a lot of willpower!
